Project Planning
In any change environment, planning is the key to delivery of the project on time, in full and within the necessary budget constraints. The team has years of experience managing various projects within the chemical industry at both ends of the rainbow: from commissioning new build; to decontamination / decommissioning. Most projects have been completed within the highly regulated chemical industry. We subscribe to close management of all activities to be able to control the essential elements of any project.

Plant Run Down
All our staff have worked within the chemical industry at the sharp end of production / operations. We have been heavily involved in the run down of numerous units and plants. We've been there, seen the pitfalls and know that failure at this level can adversely affect safety, cost and timescales. Early consideration of the end requirement is vital.
We can help in many ways: from initial advice to full "hands on" capability.

Decommissioning
An essential step prior to mothballing, plant revamp or demolition is decommissioning. This phase involves preparation of plant to a suitable standard and Site Ops will take the steps necessary to ensure the plant is safe. We provide detailed documentation for the plant or unit enabling the next phase to proceed safely. The documentation provides the detail required for the Health & Safety plan under CDM regulations.

Maintenance and Operation of Essential Plant

Units such as the ETP may need to be maintained during demolition until surrender of the Environmental Permit.

Remediation Options Appraisal
Site closure is quickly followed by, or integral with, consideration of an end land-use scenario. Where possible, early assessment of remediation options in-line with Environment Agency guidance (The Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination, CLR-11) can provide significant benefits. A remediation options appraisal may affect how a plant is decommissioned and whether equipment such as the Effluent Treatment Plant should be retained. Site Ops provide an independent, impartial evaluation of remediation techniques and can be retained for medium to long-term operation and maintenance of equipment.

The staff are qualified in management, chemical engineering and safety.
